Founded in 1956 at 6011 S. Pulaski Ave., Chicago as Rex Television Service Company, also known as Rex TV. Rex grew during the years when consumer electronics was affordably repairable and not disposable.
During the 1970's and 1980's a larger amount of "carry-in" product was still being repaired and there were several larger electronic dealers in the Chicagoland area that used independent service.
In the late 1980's Rex hit a peak of 7 locations and over 100 employees. Authorized on more than 60 manufacturers Rex Service repaired as many as 800 Nintendo game consoles and 400 VCR's a week during this time.
